Retinal photos are pictures taken of the back of the eye showing central and peripheral retina, optic disc, and macula. It is very useful to have such photos as part of the permanent vision record, especially as it allows the doctor to document changes in the retina or optic nerve over time. It is very important for patients to have routine photograph taken.
These instrument tests your peripheral and central vision. It is like a “CT SCAN” for the eyes and can often pick up many problems like Glaucoma, Macular Degeneration, Retinal Detachment, or Brain Tumor before symptoms appear. It is also used for DMV related exams.
